H+M Builders Ltd. was established in 2017 by Hamish Inch & Matt Stephens. With 30 years collective and continual building experience, their passion and attention to detail ensures they treat every project with the merit it deserves. Specialising in building top quality bespoke homes we at H+M Builders take a real pride in making sure every detail is crafted to perfection.

By both being onsite everyday along with our trusted team, managing your investment you can be rest assured that your build is managed and crafted to the highest quality, whilst putting a big emphasis on keeping you informed and updated throughout the entire build process.

We as directors, being on the tools each day allows the client to have peace of mind that their build is in trusted hands. From coordinating with architects, engineers and subcontractors to managing Health and Safety and the consenting process.

Hamish Inch

After finishing school in 2012 at Christchurch Boys High School I chose to pursue a career in building, having a passion for problem solving and making projects come to life. I completed my apprenticeship in 2016 whilst continuing to work on and project manage various unparalleled architectural renovations and new homes until 2017.

In 2017 Matt and I established H+M Builders Ltd. Having a unique working
relationship in which our strengths are combined to produce results that speak
for themselves. Built on the qualities of trust, finesse and hard work. Personally, it's rewarding to collaborate with our clients, designers, suppliers and our team to create a quality job for all involved.

Outside of work my hobbies include spending time with family and friends. You can also find me on the rugby field or golf course. The balance of this along with the challenges and rewards of creating smiles with our clients is what makes myself and our team so determined to deliver.

Matt from H+M Builders, in Christchurch is friendly and experienced in the building industry

Matt Stephens

I have been full time building in Canterbury since leaving school in 2000. Growing up on a farm gave me the urge to have a career outdoors with a practical mindset. Completing my apprenticeship rurally in North Canterbury then moving to Christchurch in 2006 to continue my trade where I spent 11 years building as a site manager/foreman. In this time I have been involved in and completed a wide variety of projects from renovations, new builds, commercial buildings, farm buildings, repairs/maintenance and landscaping. In 2017 Hamish and I established H+M Builders Ltd which gives us the opportunity to create our own path leaving our own stamp on Canterbury.

My ultimate passion lies with architectural, bespoke projects. The personal client and architect rapports we gain from these projects are truly rewarding. Our focused attention to every detail and our methodology of how we manage a project enables us to deliver the outcome our clients deserve.

My wife Lisa and I have 3 boys, Baxter, Jed and Ridge who occupy any of my spare time biking, playing rugby or cricket on the back lawn or down at our local sports clubs wet or fine on a Saturday.

Since establishing H+M Builders Ltd in 2017 with Hamish I have enjoyed the challenges of running a building business in Christchurch and leaving a trail of our own happy clients with the ultimate accolade of repeat business. Having H+M Builders referred to a new client by an existing client is a job well done.
